Momentum consists of a selection of filecasts that generally imply a sense of forward motion, although at least one track that does not fit this description has been included for the sake of contrast. In Newtonian physics, an object’s momentum depends upon a frame of reference. Our frame of reference here is simply the subjective sense that a contrived or designed sound produces the sensation of forward motion, the sensation of time proceeding, rather than standing still.
In addition to the new track momentum, we also include the older filecast last days, as well as all new mixes of two even older filecasts from the initial advances made at the beginning of the project: forty (published on the 40th anniversary of the Apollo XI moon landing) and into darkness. Taken together as a sequence, this playlist takes on the qualities of a single composition in four movements.
